Even in the
city you can learn more about the live in the countryside. If you are in
Otavalo on a Saturday morning, don´t miss the little organic market Feria
IMBABIO in the city center (end of Calle Colon). There, some 40 women from the
surrounding villages sell their organic products (vegetables, fruits, medicinal
plants etc.), as well as typical dishes and specialties from the area. They are
happy to share their recipes and immense knowledge in the field of alternative
medicine. So it’s the perfect place to get ready for a long day at the famous handicrafts
market or to cure one or the other health problem.
